Devi and Kumaravela meet, sparks fly, swords clash. They fall in love, but intrigue and treason at court put them and their loved ones in danger. Will Devi be able to escape the clutches of the cruel Kanthidevan who has always lusted after her? Will Kumaravela be able to laugh again?
Jayashree Gopal is a physician and author, living, working and writing in the city of Chennai, India. She grew up reading (actually devouring) books of many genres and was most happy when she could escape into times long gone.
She was always writing books (mostly in her head) as life (read marriage,
kids, training and a full-time busy career) kept her busy. Finally, she
decided to set pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and churned out her
first book - ͞To Laugh Again. It is set in the time of the rule of the Imperial
Cholas - a glorious dynasty which ruled much of South India between 850
CE and 1279 CE. Please click here to know more about the Cholas.
She loves to hear from people who have read her book - both the
bouquets and the brick-bats. Do write to her at
And if reading the books(s) spurs your interest in reading more about the
great dynasties that ruled South India - she will wipe a tear from her eye
and die happy!
