Mr. Kartar Chand was born in 1931 in a small village in Punjab, India. While growing up, he firsthand experienced the severe consequences of caste discrimination. His confusion as a child turned into disgust as an adult, and motivated him to leave. At the young age of 23, he packed a bag and embarked on an amazing journey to a new world that forever changed his life. His children, grandchildren, and countless others have benefitted from his courage, kindness, resilience, and willingness to leave his home and everything he knew for a better future.

Mr. Chand found peace on August, 9, 2022. His family loved him very much and he will forever be in their hearts.

All book proceeds will be donated towards the education of underprivileged communities in Mr. Chand's home state, Punjab, India.
