Everyone knows that meditation is good for us. Every doctor, psychologists, fitness teacher and even your friends and neighbours tell you so. Maybe, you yourself are practising meditation for long.
But if someone asks you, new or old practitioners of meditation,
(a)Whether you are qualified for meditation,
(b) Which object you meditate on,
(c) What you want from your meditation
(d) How will you grade your success in achieving it,
And you feel yourself uncomfortable in replying these basic questions, this series of books “Eternal Meditation Principles: Brahm Vidyas” is for you.
Despite the increased popularity of meditation practices, the modern meditation systems primarily focussing on psychological and physical well-being are only partially successful. Moreover, very few meditation practitioners aim at attaining self-awareness or the status of super consciousness.
The Author emphasises that physical and mental health are only additional benefits, or byproducts of meditation and the aim should be much higher. For this, we need to understand the original meditation systems explained in traditional gems of books, including Patanjali Yog Sutra, Vedas, and Upanishads.
The book discusses these eternal meditation systems. While, Upanishads are well-known as the greatest source of philosophical thoughts, there are some wisdoms identified in Upanishads particularly suitable for meditation purpose. There are thirty-two such wisdom, well known as Brahm Vidyas. Acharya Shankar had declared that meditation with the help of any of the Brahm Vidyas would lead one to Samadhi. This state of super Consciousness is declared to provide both the worldly desires and bliss to Brahm ultimately. Unfortunately, these Vidyas are scattered among different major Upanishads. This has resulted in people, even Hindu scholars forgetting Brahm Vidyas, the eternal principles of meditation.
The Author has brought these Brahm Vidyas together in this book series. The presentation is in easy language understandable for all. Sanskrit shlokas are also given for direct reference of the source, the Upanishads. All these gems of wisdom have been presented in very interesting way, which is a bonus.
A beauty of such Vidyas is that all are result of wonderful stories, or question answer sessions. So, grab your copy of this book, if you want to explore these Eternal meditation principles in general, and /or to know the answers to the questions such as
(a) Why Deva and Asuras, both progenies of Brahma, are so different in nature.
(b) Why and how ‘Om’ is used for meditation?
(c) What is Aaditya Vidya?
(d) What is the thread connecting everyone and everything?
and so on.
