Amazing read
I adore this book and the message it presents! Enter this book, which presents gorgeous illustrations and an engaging method of storytelling with a vocabulary which should appeal to a wide variety of ages without being too simple or too complex.
A must read for kids
Avocado, the turtle is sad because her friends dislike her for being too friendly. One day, they decided to send her away. Sad and disheartened, Avocado didn't leave her shell for a long time when she heard a knock and it changed the way she thought about herself forever. She realized it never mattered what others what of you.
A huge thank you to the authors for choosing this topic to write on. Obviously, it's very difficult to explain the concept of self acceptance to kids but with the help of this vibrant picture book you don't have to worry about that. The story is very short and to the point. It's in a very simple language for youngsters to understand. There's a cute and colourful picture on every alternate page which will keep the interest of children intact. I really recommend you to gift Avocado the Turtle this Christmas to any kid you know.
A book of Happiness
Sometimes we feel different, maybe with emotions, maybe physically or mentally. Sometimes we are considered as different, like a black sheep. I would say we all are different, that’s what makes us unique. Otherwise, the world might have become a clone making factory.
Recently, I came across a Children book, even though Middle grade books are one of my favorites, but I don’t think we usually pick up Children book most probably.
“Avocado the Turtle” is about a cute little turtle, she is quite gullible and friendly, but other turtles didn’t enjoy her behavior so they told her to leave, will Avocado be able to make new friends? What will happen next?
I would suggest this beautifully illustrated book to parents who have kids between the age group of 3-8 years. This is a moral story book and you will feel good too. The book has used bright colors considering the taste of kids. I would truly recommend this. This cute little story is written by Kiara Shankar.
Perfect for kids!
Every ones in a while, I like going back to a children's book. As a kid, I didn't really read a lot of kids books because I had to listen to a 'moral story' daily at school ( catholic school stuff I guess) and by the time I was 6 I was bored of those and wanted to dive head first into novels. Now that I don't get to see a lot of morals ( in stories or otherwise) I crave for the simplicity of those little stories.
This month, I picked up this book and I am so happy I did. It came with adorable illustrations of the tiny, cute turtle. The story was simple, ideal for a 3 -8 yr old (I was a very early reader and so is my little cousin). Innocence and love
Written by a 13-yr old, this book is perfect for kids! I'm gonna get a physical copy for my cousin's birthday soon!
Superb for kids
Its a story about Avacado the turtle who is not accepted by the turtle community because his name is based on food, he liked to have a conversation with other turtles and didn't like to stay in the shell. He wasn't accepted in the turtle community and soon was kicked out. After that incident, he tried to change his life. Be in shell all the time, not talking to anybody, but one day he met Lemonade the giraffe who accepted him, however he was and didn't run away from him. He also introduced him with his friends, Bacon the pig and Honey the Bee. They all welcomed Avacado the turtle and played with him all the time. This made him realize that he didn't need to change if he wanted to be happy. He was just with the wrong community who had been bullying him and making him feel bad for being himself.
The cover and the title suited to the story. And it will be great for kids as it is attractive and has a lot of colorfum illustrations on it. I suggest it to kids of 5-8 years age.
Pure Innocence
How many of you get to read a children’s book in your adulthood? Let me speak for all, not many!
But fortunately enough when I got a chance to review Avocado the Turtle, I grabbed it with both hands. I mean, why not!
If it being a kid’s book was not enough; the fact that it is written by a 13 yo girl will surely make you want to read it.
The book is all innocence and love. Just like how all the children’s books should be, it has a learning and a sense of simplicity and warmth. You will end up smiling ear to ear and would want to give a bear hug to the book.
I would say just give it a try and read for yourself!
Impeccable book!
Avocado the Turtle: The One and Only is an impeccable book written by Kiara Shankar.
The story is all about an inspiring turtle namely, Avocado. Kiara Shankar is an aspiring young teenager author. The book is as short as 48 pages and the language used is really very easy to understand. Avocado is rejected by the other turtles for being too friendly. One day, they decide she should no longer be welcomed in their turtle group, and she is sent away. Upset at first, she eventually meets new friends and starts to understand it doesn't matter what people want her to be. The author has mainly emphasized on some very important things like, we shouldn't hate or bully the people who are quite different and also being unique is always okay. Avocado befriends with a giraffe namely, Lemon. If you want to know more about Lemon and Avocado then you should definitely read this impeccable book
