The book is written by my grandmother Mrs Krishna Gupta, and it describes the story of Pipraiya family from the period 1904-2011. The story is about my dad’s “Nanaji” & “Naniji” who were instrumental in bringing up a family, through all odds, to a degree of success, about which all of us can be proud of.
The book was meant for private circulation among the “Pipraiya” family members, primarily to serve as a happy reminder of our past.
As I read and corrected the book I came across many words whose usages are now forgotten. These words give lots of meaning to our expressions. Today we hesitate to use Hindi as a means of expressing our views because we do not have the knowledge of these meaningful words, which were predominantly used in the past.
I am publishing this book for wider circulation as I would like my friends to read the book and see how many words are lost from our vocabulary over the period of time, and in this process start using some of these simple but beautiful words once again.
