Lathish Shankar, a 46-year-old native of Gonikoppal in Karnataka's Kodagu district, is a multifaceted individual with a passion for teaching, writing, and music. He resides with his parents, wife, and eight-year-old daughter.
With a teaching career spanning 26 years, he began his journey in 1998 and is currently the Principal of Lamps Academy in Thithimathi.
A prolific writer, he has authored twelve books across genres like paranormal, horror, mystery, and thrillers in English, Malayalam, and Hindi. His English novels have been translated into seven foreign languages, including Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, Dutch, Greek, and Afrikaans, earning him prominence in literary circles.
He has been interviewed by a UK radio station and literary blogs and channels in France, Nigeria, and Japan, discussing his writings. Apart from teaching, Lathish is a skilled chess player and musician, proficient in playing the violin, mandolin, harmonium, guitar, keyboard, and piano. He also teaches music, creative writing, and is a chess coach, showcasing his diverse talents.
