ROSE ON THE MOON is a collection of poetry, written by a fourteen year old. It is based on struggles faced by all in the race of life. It talks about dark topics such as depression and suicide as well as motivational topics to lift the spirits of those whose souls were gravely hurt. This book starts with the darkest poems and continues to end with the brightest of them all. This shows the healing process of the ones who are hurt. It is a book for all ages as it deals with teenage problems such as first loves, break ups and pressure from society and also adult issues about topics such as relationships, gender equality and cheating. It includes almost eighty poems. All poems included are based on my life and that of others around me. How they were broken and how they reincarnated as beautiful, new, motivated and healthy human beings. The name given to the book is based on my theory which might sound peculiar to many. “Rose on the moon”, they say. “Why not Sunflower or any other flowers in general on the moon?” they ask.The rose in the title represents us, ordinary humans. We have been through so much, but many of us are fighting and surviving. We must be like a rose, beautiful but deadly. Like the petals of the rose, we must be soft and attractive, not only in looks but as well as in personality and like the thorns, we must learn how to guard ourselves and protect ourselves, because in the end, you are your only knight in shining armor. The reference of moon in the title is given to motivate the readers to do the impossible. A rose’s existence at present is next to impossible on the moon but, we may never know, with the growing discoveries that might be possible too! Similarly, the reader must not grab attention by doing the obvious, but by doing the unique. Hope you enjoy reading this book!
