Description

This book is an excavation—of the buried truths beneath society’s polished veneers, the quiet rebellions in suburban kitchens, and the unspoken fractures in our digital utopias. Since 2012, these poems have been my companions through moonlit guard duties and boardroom labyrinths, each verse a breadcrumb trail back to raw, unvarnished humanity.
I offer no prescriptions for transformation, only mirrors. Some cracked, some sharp-edged, all reflecting the paradoxes we’ve normalized—greed disguised as ambition, silence mistaken for peace, freedom measured in filters.
If these lines unsettle you, they’ve done their work. If they cradle your solitude like an old friend, my decade of ink-stained nights finds its purpose. For in the end, poetry isn’t about answers—it’s about resonance. The kind that whispers: You’re not alone in seeing the cracks. Now, what will you build from them?

About the Author

Major Gaurav Tak (Retd) is a former Indian Army officer, alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, and mechanical engineer whose journey spans the rigor of military strategy, the precision of engineering, and the introspection of poetry. With over a decade of leadership in high-stakes environments, he has cultivated expertise in transformation management, creative problem-solving, and ethical decision-making—skills that now infuse his literary work.

His poetry, born from the trenches of service and the silence of introspection, bridges the visceral and the philosophical, interrogating themes of societal fractures, human resilience, and the cost of progress. This debut collection distills his observations of humanity’s contradictions into verses that are both a mirror and a scalpel—unflinching, urgent, and resonant with the weight of lived truth.

When not writing, he mentors leaders in crisis navigation and advocates for veteran empowerment. He lives in India with his family, where he remains a student of classical literature, stoic philosophy, and the quiet revolutions of everyday courage.
