Manisha Gupta, belonging to Uttaranchal, did her schooling from Convent schools in Nainital & Dehradun. Very creative with a unique combination of qualifications & skills, she combines a background in Science, Maths & Computers with a passion for writing, painting and the traditional crafts. This led her into extensive research, study & work on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). She is involved with protecting the rich intangible cultural heritage of the country and is visiting faculty “IPRs & Branding” at a centre of Ministry of Textiles.

As trainer, she has trained a vast range of people on IPRs. Has been invited to speak at various seminars/conferences all over India and presented a paper as an invited speaker at an international conference in Bangkok (2005). Has been a panelist at technical sessions in conferences and was also a speaker at the international conference “Women In Leadership Forum–2010-India”, Delhi.

Her innovative paintings series include a first of its kind exhibition- “Japan-India Friendship Through Art”- at the Japan Foundation, which was a Japanese Embassy endorsed event and part of “Japan-India Friendship Year-2007”. She learnt the Japanese language, art & culture during her year long stay in Sapporo, Japan. In May-2011, she displayed her abstract paintings in Delhi as part of “Dell Renascence-2011”, 1st Global Alumni meet of IIM-Lucknow. She has also delved into learning French, the Sitar and holds a Junior Diploma in Bharat Natyam.

Her Hindi poetry book-“Gamon Ki Saugat” too contains her paintings. Her articles are published in leading National Dailies, reputed magazines and she writes a column for a magazine. She is an avid Blogger (www.gmanishag.blogspot.com).
