Mayank Mishra is a scientific refugee who escaped years of fieldwork across India, satellite data analysis, meetings that promised breakthroughs and reliably delivered none. After several earnest attempts to fit back into respectable systems, he accepted the obvious — he functioned better as an outsider.

Writing followed naturally. Scientific papers gave way to novels and an expanding catalogue, where observations were finally allowed to contradict themselves, and occasionally tell the truth without footnotes.

Mayank prefers the quieter pleasures of his own company, punctuated by time spent with his brothers and sister. Those quieter hours are also where his devotion to Krishna resides—unfashionable and deeply personal. To him, Krishna is not a metaphor but presence, not legend but continuity—guidance shaped as conversation rather than command.

He is increasingly convinced that fictional lives are often more reliable than real ones—at least they obey their own rules—and he is currently on the verge of surrendering fully to long-form fiction, where belief, contradiction, and human intent are allowed to coexist.
