Description

Reading opens the door to imagination and creativity, allowing children to explore new worlds and experience a range of emotions through stories. These tales not only entertain but also help children understand and express their feelings. By connecting with characters who face challenges, children learn to empathize and better understand their own emotions. It's never too late to introduce them to the magic of stories.
“The Short Story Book for Kids” is a delightful collection about life on a farm, featuring animals like Dogs, Cows, Sheep, Goats, Monkeys, Pigs, Peacocks, and many birds. Kids will love playing with these lively characters as they embark on fun adventures.
Join Aantoni’s Dadaji-Dadi, Vivaan’s Nana-Nani, their playful Dogs Mars and Pluto, Kali the Goat, Rani the Cow, Katta bhai the farm caretaker, and a host of other lively farm animals at their picturesque farm in a small village. The stories are filled with valuable lessons about respecting elders, building friendships, accepting others, forgiving, caring for nature, and much more.
Each story will captivate young readers and foster a love for reading as they follow exciting adventures with the farm animals. These stories aim to boost mental well-being, spark imagination, and teach children important life lessons.
Written for kids ages 6 to 10, “The Short Story Book for Kids” also makes a wonderful read-aloud for younger children (4 to 6 years old). Through characters who face real-life challenges, children will learn essential lessons in a fun and engaging way.
In stories like “Morning Friends at the Farm”, kids will learn the value of sharing, caring, and accepting one another. In “The Mango Tree”, they’ll discover the power of forgiveness, the importance of caring for nature, and how persistence can lead to success—lessons that are especially important in today’s world where instant gratification is common.
Through adventures like “Operation Piggy”, “Encounter with Monkeys”, and “Welcome Kali”, children will not only enjoy the thrill of the stories but will also gain a deeper understanding of emotional growth and moral values. Parents will also enjoy reading along, particularly with Pluto’s antics in “Pluto Learns to Say Sorry”, which tackles the common struggle of overcoming pride and saying sorry.
Each story is beautifully illustrated by eight-year-old Vivaan, with co-authoring by Aantoni, fourteen. These illustrations bring the farm and its characters to life, capturing the essence of village life in a fun and engaging way.
This collection of moral stories from Grandma’s farm will transport children away from their busy city lives, offering valuable lessons on ethics, kindness, and personal growth. These beloved characters will quickly become favorites, helping children stay on a positive and healthy path.

About the Authors

At 68+, Meenakshi Pathak is an enthusiastic budding writer and artist from Anand, Gujarat. With a heart devoted to education and a natural talent for sociology, she has dedicated much of her life to nurturing creativity and life skills in children, from toddlers to postgraduate students at Sardar Patel University.
Beyond her work as a lecturer, she embraced her love for creativity through self-organized workshops for children, focusing on various activities to spark their inventiveness. Her summer workshops, often theme-based, provided a platform for children to explore and grow.
Meenakshi and her husband call a beautiful farm, located just outside their village, home. The farm is not just a piece of land—it’s a testament to their spirit and hard work. It’s a place where dreams come alive, and it has inspired “The Short Story for Kids”, a collection of stories drawn from her experiences with the farm animals and its vibrant surroundings.
This book offers parents a unique opportunity to explore stories that address the challenges children face today while teaching valuable life lessons in a fun and engaging way. It’s a heartfelt invitation to guide children toward a happier, more meaningful life.
