This book tells stories of Entrepeneurs, who challenged the status quo and refused to follow the rat race. They crafted their own way with a great courage, faced many adversities, received lots of criticism and rejections but still kept faith in their dream and chosen path to become successful. These people were not great intellectuals, they didn’t have any family inheritance and looked just like you and me but the only thing that was different, was their thinking, their persistence, their self-belief, their risk-taking ability and most importantly to take action on their plans and it made all the difference. It made them Uncommon. This book covers stories of such ‘Uncommons’ amongst ‘Commons’ and how they stood off the crowd with their dreams, courage and actions to fulfill their dreams. Their stories will motivate those who are thinking of doing something but not able to take that ‘First Step’. These ‘Uncommons’ are from different age groups. different timespan, different socio-economic conditions thus proving that one can start anytime, in any external situations and still make it big.
When you read the stories, you will find some common traits and one single focus, between all of them. They all had courage to stand out, they were ready to take risks, they were persistent, they started small by taking that first step where most people get stuck. And importantly, they all were ‘Customer Focused’. These characteristics helped them to become ‘UnCommonly Common’, the theme of this book.
At the end of each story, author has tried his best to mention their differentiating qualities that made them ‘Uncommon’. Hope that will help
