Mir Sayid Ali Hamadani (RA) has been the founder of Islam in Kashmir. When he arrived here, a Brahmin challenged him for an open debacle, when he could fly in air. On this his disciple ordered his shoes which brought him down beating his head till he touched the ground. This resulted in to mass comversion of the people who witnessed the scene.Later his disciples spread in to the length and breadth of the valley to propagate Islam.
