It gives us immense pleasure to present the first edition of "Nai Talim: An Experiential Learning", designed in alignment with the B.Ed. 1st Semester syllabus. This book is an earnest attempt to reintroduce Gandhiji’s philosophy of education—Nai Talim—which emphasizes learning through productive work and real-life experiences. In the context of teacher education, Nai Talim encourages a holistic development of the learner, blending head, heart, and hand.
The book has been developed with the aim of providing student-teachers a comprehensive understanding of experiential learning approaches, integrating theory with practice. It outlines the principles, pedagogical relevance, and contemporary applicability of Nai Talim, while fostering critical reflection and engagement.
We are grateful to Kalinga University for its support, and to our students whose curiosity and feedback continue to inspire us. We also acknowledge the contributions of fellow educators and scholars whose insights have shaped the structure and content of this volume.
