Today I am with you with my newest collection of poems " Unfinished Converse—c2024 ". This is the time - period for me to pass through a strange feeling. This is for the fact that poems are not composed, they are born. About one and a half to two months ago --- not a very long passage of time --- the book " Alas, If I Were Such An Engineer " was completed. The process of completion took about eight to nine months.
Let me first talk about the genesis of the " period of time ". Following the publication of my first collection of poems in the year 2000, it took seventeen years for the publication of my second collection " Possibility ".
In fact, in this time-period, I composed very few poems. having devoted myself, continually, to writing satire. Yet, the poems saved from the earlier period, and remaining, as composed during these intervening seventeen years, were collected in " Possibility ".
I took seventeen years to venture from one poetry - collection to the next.
To say the truth, I find story - writing difficult; with utmost easiness, I pen satire.
Presently, I am writing a regular Blog; and
as " poems are not composed, they are born ", you would well understand that, within a period of just a month and a half or two, the flowering of heartfelt emotions in a way that compels putting forth the poems in the shape of a collection, is nothing other than the divine blessing of Goddess Saraswati.
In the meantime, in these very months,
came such an interval of five to six days as when not a single word could be penned on a page. Then, when thoughts began to flow forth, in a single night, eight to nine compositions took the form of words, for poems. During the last two to two and a half years, there have happened certain important changes in life that are continuously inspiring me to write. The reality is that, today, I am not writing, I am " living my life ". Today, this " writing " has become my life.
There have been a few factors that work as sources of inspiration for my literary creativity. The chief among them is the NBT Blog, publications in the magazine " Meri Saheli", and a few other WhatsApp Groups. The NBT Blog has given me broad freedom of expression in my literary efforts. Writing on the Blog made it possible for me to experiment with several novelties in the genres of poetry, story- writing, elaboration of thoughts and informative literary articles.
