Nandan is a filmmaker and writer from Kerala, born in 1991. Formerly a civil engineer in Bengaluru, he followed his creative calling to Mumbai, where he began his film career. With a diverse background, he has also worked as a director’s assistant on various advertising films and mainstream feature films.

He has directed critically acclaimed films such as Breath and Dreaming of Words. His 2021 documentary, Dreaming of Words, received notable recognition, including winning a National Film Award at the 68th National Film Awards. The film has been screened at numerous film festivals and academic conferences, including the annual conventions of the Modern Language Association and the Linguistic Society of America.

Beyond filmmaking, Nandan has contributed to comic anthologies and authored three books: The Dream Balloon, Manam, and New Desertlands. More about his work can be found on his website, www.nandan.in.
