"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented" - Christof, The Truman Show.
Not everyone with the ability to run is a runner.
Not everyone with the ability to speak is an orator.
Not everyone with the ability to move their body can present what can be categorized as dance.
Not everyone with the ability to think can use thoughts as an effective tool in their lives.
A skill is much more than an ability.
In fact, most of the time, the struggle to 'stop thinking unwanted thoughts' supersedes the 'ability to think the thoughts we need'. We spend every moment thinking but it is rare that we get the answers we need with ease.
Thinking is just like a tool we were accorded with, the moment we were born, with no instruction manual. We used the tool without even realizing there was a tool we were using. We navigated our ways through it, and found out what worked for us. Our thinking styles became our persona.
From the intellectuals' obsession with "I think, therefore I am" to the more stoic "Destroy the thoughts as soon as they arise" and the more new-agish fad of "Watching the train of thoughts as they pass by", much of what is taught to us about thoughts and thinking is not only irrelevant and useless, but often quite dangerous.
This collection of writings intends to lift the veil and provide a glimpse into the wonder and intrigue of the world of thoughts.
It doesn't aim to provide any answers and add to the clutter of the misinformation about thoughts, but sets you to a self-exploration in the world of thoughts. As a starter, it prods you to question the cliches and the misinformation around thoughts.
It shows the steps to effective means of using thoughts effectively and use them as a tool to create your personal reality and the reality around you.
