Poulomi Sanyal has been writing poetry since she was ten years old, and she even created her own literary magazine when she was twelve. Sanyal was born in India but has lived all over the world, including Hong Kong and, more recently, Canada. She is fluent in English, Bengali, and Hindi, and she also speaks conversational French.

Sanyal received her master's degree from McGill University in Montreal and has spent the past ten years working in engineering. In her free time, she enjoys writing, painting, acting, and traveling.

Sanyal's first book, Colour Me Confounded, inspired by her own experiences as an independant woman in the modern professional world, has been well received by readers and reviewers worldwide. Here's what The Statesman, a leading English daily in India, had to say about the book:

Her Thought Warrior series is based on an original, unpublished, research concept arising out of her PhD level research at McGill University. This research was undertaken in collaboration with the Montreal Neurological Institute while pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
