Stories from the Mahabharat
Written more than 2,500 years ago, Mahabharat is one of the finest stories ever told. It was written to simplify the teachings of the Vedas into real life stories that would entertain and teach at the same time. Some describe the Mahabharat as the fifth Veda.
Within the Mahabharat, there are innumerable stories that thrill, intrigue and teach. They take you into a world of fantasy and imagination. You step into the world of gods, Yaksh, Gandharv, demons and kings and queens that ruled over the hearts of common people.
The stories describe human behaviour at its best and worst, narrating incidents of love and hatred, selfishness and charity, deceit and cheating. Each story provides an opportunity to learn how to rise from the mundane to an extraordinary life of self-realization.
Though divided into separate volumes, the stories add up to create the complete story of the Mahabharat.
