In an era where the landscape of education is continuously transforming, the contributions of emerging scholars hold immense value in shaping inclusive and forward-looking educational practices. This edited volume, Narratives of Change: Exploring Elementary Education through Research, presents a compelling compilation of undergraduate research studies that delve into the diverse challenges, innovations, and realities of elementary education in India.
The chapters included in this volume represent the culmination of research projects by fifteen B.El.Ed. student-teachers from the School of Education, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana. These projects were undertaken under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Tania Gupta, Dean, School of Education as part of the course SEED492A: Research Project II (Educational Issue). Designed to meet both academic requirements and to inspire scholarly inquiry, these studies reflect the student-teachers’ commitment to understanding and improving educational systems and social development concerns through research.
Each contribution serves as a narrative of change—highlighting lived experiences, contextual issues,
innovative pedagogical practices, and the evolving role of educators. As the Editor, I am proud to
present these narratives that resonate with insight, compassion, and a determination to bring about
meaningful transformation in elementary education.
I invite readers to engage with these research-driven stories, reflect on their findings, and become part of the ongoing dialogue to enhance educational equity, quality, and relevance for all learners.
