When twins Maya and Max are left home alone for a few days, they don't think anything special will happen. And it doesn't - until they climb a waterfall and enter the magical kingdom of Sanyati. Sanyati is a mystical city whose citizens, the Jems (not fairies, JEMS!) are extremely different from humans. The twins meet Celeste, a friendly local, and explore the kingdom. As they meet new friends and learn new things, they realize a terrible truth. They, along with Celeste, are prophesied to save the whole of Sanyati! The twins and their friend embark on an adventurous journey to stop the evil Enchantress. But soon all hope is lost. And the Enchantress has more than one secret...
