Description

This book captures the technological revolution from vacuum tubes to Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI), a pivotal shift spanning from the 1960s to the 1980s, which propelled the telecommunications industry from analog to digital and eventually to mobile technologies. This transformation enabled the evolution of customer terminals from dial phones to smartphones. The author, S. Seenivasagan, not only witnessed these monumental changes but also played an active role in using them through his work at the Telecom Research Centre (TRC).

The narrative delves into his contributions to digitizing Indian telecom in the mid-1980s and his pioneering efforts in introducing value-added and mobile services in the mid-1990s as the head of the Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC) in Mumbai. His vision of establishing a world-class telecom infrastructure in India was realized by the mid-2000s. This book chronicles Seenivasagan’s professional achievements and offers an insightful look into the technological shifts within the Indian telecom industry.

This book stands as an Engineering and Informative read for any one who is interested in the telecom sectors historical and technological developments. Good for Engineering students to motivate them and achieve success.

A nice book that chronicles the Innovations in telecom field.

I just finished reading the book "Echoes of Telecom Innovations," and I must commend the author for the comprehensive coverage of the telecom revolution spanning the past five decades. The narrative navigates through the intricate developments of this transformative era.
As someone who spent considerable time in the telecom switching field during this period, the book resonated deeply with me, evoking fond memories of my own experiences. I believe it serves as an invaluable compendium for present-day students seeking to understand the evolution of telecommunications.
The contributions of the author to telecom development, from the foundational pulse code modulation (PCM) technique to cutting-edge transmission systems, are commendable and have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the industry.
A well written informative and interesting book on meteoric raise of telecom technology in the last five decades.
