Description
This book did not begin as a project. It began as a moment.
Two children, barely four and six, wrote their own small books — ten pages each, filled with imagination, innocence, and joy. Their stories were illustrated lovingly and preserved just as they were.
Years later, during travels and everyday adventures, observations were written down — sometimes eagerly, sometimes reluctantly — at the insistence of a mother who believed that experiences gain meaning only when reflected upon.
At the time, the writing felt like discipline. With time, it revealed its wisdom.
Those notes — curious questions, playful remarks, quiet reflections — slowly grew into a narrative. Not just of places visited, but of how children see the world, and how adults rediscover it through them.
This book brings together three voices across generations:
• Siddharth — curious and analytical.
• Khushi — imaginative and expressive.
• Dadu — an observer, participant, and gentle chronicler.
The children’s original stories appear unchanged, preserved in their authentic voice, with illustrations by Nicky Mausi (aunt) and editing by Dadu (grandfather). Around them are woven memoirs of journeys, everyday moments, and reflections that connect imagination with lived experience.
Imagination Across Generations is not meant to instruct.
It simply records — with honesty and affection — what happens when generations listen to one another and create together.
Three authors-Siddharth, Khushi, and their grandfather Dadu.
Siddharth
Siddharth wrote Under the Sea at the age of four. Curious and observant, he enjoys asking questions, analysing situations, and discovering how things work. He is multifaceted-a good singer, swimmer, plays piano well, enjoys football, voracious reader, loves technology, robotics, coding, innovation, and science. His love for learning finds expression in both stories and real-life experiences. He is in grade V in his school in Singapore.
Khushi
Khushi wrote Bloomer the Unicorn and the Rainbow Adventure at the age of six. She tells her story though drawings which are placed in the book as created by her. Imaginative and expressive, she sees magic in everyday life and brings colour, emotion, and creativity into everything she does. She is a perfectionist, loves gymnastics, good in violin, model student and quick learner. She is in Grade II in her school in Singapore.
Dadu
Dadu believes that children are the finest teachers adults will ever have — if only they pause long enough to listen. His role in this book is to preserve voices, edit text, connect moments, and quietly step aside when imagination leads.
Age has slowed the body but sharpened observation, and storytelling has become his way of celebrating family, memory, and togetherness.
Dadu’s name is Jitendra Mohan Pant and he is a mentor, writer, story teller, author, trainer, lifelong learner and life coach with decades of non-linear career and experience in operations and general management, learning and development.
