Is there any truth in the concept of soulmates?

Do soulmates hurt each other to the extent that life could turn erratic for the both of them?

In December 2001, Sia runs into a buoyant Krishi and instantly has a crush on him. They meet while auditioning for the music fete of their college and as fate has it, get coupled together for a duet during the fete. Common interests, tender age, and an aching heart strengthen the bond of friendship between them. Changing situations, two-faced friends, unfinished businesses and emotional distances between them however, set the dissension between them and lead them to part ways after half a decade and move on with their lives.

Years later, when they reluctantly decide and meet up, several questions still haunt them:
Did they really part ways for good?
Were they never meant for each other?
Did their story really end?
