About one-third of the mistakes made by an average student in the written work are spelling mistakes. Even when the main difficulties of grammar and syntax have been mastered, spelling mistakes continue to spoil every piece of written work. Hence there is a great need to improve the capability of students in this area.

This book contains more than four thousand seven hundred English words that are now being used in Indian schools. The spellings are divided into seven modules. They are alphabetically arranged and carefully graded from easy to difficult words. The English teacher should be able to select one module or a part of it for a particular class depending on the academic attainment of pupils at that level.
