Munnu, a 9 year old boy lives with his widowed mother in a slum near Basanti, Sunderbans.
While his mother makes a meagre living by doing household chores at a few homes, Munnu too, works at a tea shop, runs errands for a local laundry service to make ends meet.
He does not visit school but he his homeschooled occasionally by Madame Leela at whose house his mother works. She used to take her son there since he was 3 and that is how Leela & Munnu struck a bond with each other.
On one such visit, Munnu’s young eyes and mind catch a sight of gourmet culinary delights being prepared by chefs on the television. Munnu had never seen food like that ever in his life before and he falls in love with the visuals of it at once. So much so, that he gets obsessed and makes it his life’s mission to have a taste of that very food at least once, in his otherwise uneventful and colourless life enveloped with perpetual hardships.
But little did he know, that his innocent, childlike desire will unfold upon him a barrage of unexpected events that will perhaps, change his life forever !
