Description

Before he became king, before the exile and the war, Ram was a boy, divine yet human, who walked the forests with a bow in hand and dharma in his heart.

Inspired primarily by the Maharshi Valmiki’s Ramayan and carefully interwoven with narrative fiction, The Dawn of Dharma, the first book in the Shri Ram Gaatha series, traces the beginning of Ram’s journey.

Spanning from the heavenly realms to courtly intrigues, from the vanara kingdoms to the demon-infested forests, this novel brings to life the purity, restraint, and moral brilliance of Ram and those around him, leading up to the exile, where Ram’s principles come into direct conflict with circumstance.

At its heart is Ram, a prince chosen by the gods to end the tyranny of the asura king Raavan. Alongside him walks Lakshman, fierce in loyalty, and Sita, born of the earth and destined to change the fate of the world. Yet the story extends beyond these three, exploring the lives of those in Mithila, Lanka, Kishkindha, and the majestic divine vultures that watch the world from above.

It is not a retelling for reinvention, but for remembrance, for hearing the eternal footsteps of Ram once more.

Walk with him. The journey begins here.

About the Author

Sourabh Bhatia began his writing journey with novellas centred on resilience, healing, and introspection. A passionate reader with a deep interest in Indian history and mythology, he gradually felt inspired to write from his own perspective. His latest project, ‘Shri Ram Gaatha’, is a novel-style retelling of Maharshi Valmiki’s Ramayan, written with close attention to detail and a focus on the principles of dharma and purpose.

He is based in India and sees mythology as a living dialogue between past and present, not merely a historical record.

When he is not writing, he spends his time reading mythology, reflecting on philosophy, listening to music, or developing new story ideas.
