Mr. Sudhir Buddhasen Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Botany at Sonopant Dandekar Arts, V.S. Apte Commerce, and M.H.
Mehta Science College, Palghar, Maharashtra, and also works as an Assistant Teacher
at Holy Spirit English High School and Junior College, Palghar, Maharashtra, India.
He has over five years of teaching experience at the postgraduate level and holds an M.Sc. degree
from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai, with a specialization in Plant Taxonomy and
Phytochemistry. He has attended and successfully completed several teacher training programmes,
including Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) and Faculty Induction Programmes (FIPs)
organized by the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), along with various
conferences, seminars, webinars, and academic lectures. Mr. Sharma has authored eight research
papers focusing on medicinal plants and their derived products. His areas of expertise include Plant
Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Palynology, Mangrove Conservation, and Biodiversity Studies. He is the
author of two books on medicinal plants and has also contributed four chapters to edited volumes in
the field of medicinal botany. Additionally, he has served for four years as a Tree Officer with the
Palghar Municipal Council, Vasai–Virar Municipal Corporation, and at several other locations across
different states of India, where he successfully conducted extensive tree census, documentation, and
conservation projects. He also has two patent publications to his credit. A passionate environmental
advocate, Mr. Sharma has delivered numerous lectures and awareness talks on mangrove
conservation, biodiversity preservation, and ecological sustainability across diverse platforms. With
in-depth knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine, he has been practicing and formulating traditional
remedies for several years. Through innovative applications of medicinal plants, he has successfully
treated many patients suffering from arthritis-related pain and swelling, hypertension and
hypotension, skin disorders, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), cholelithiasis (gallstones), vesical calculi
(bladder stones), ureteral stones, and diabetes. Presently, Mr. Sharma is pursuing his Ph.D. at the
University of Mumbai under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Gogari Pankajkumar Kalyanji, N.B.
