Description
Since its emergence in the 1970s, gender studies has undergone a transformative evolution, now encompassing a rich tapestry of interdisciplinary approaches vital for unraveling the complexities of gender and its societal ramifications. This dynamic field explores the ntricate social and cultural constructions of gender, sexuality, and identity, while also delving into how these intersect with race, class, ethnicity, religion, disability, and age.
In the 21st century, it is more important than ever to engage with the contemporary issues and evolving trends within gender studies. From examining the impact of COVID-19 on gender dynamics to addressing the rise of far-right ideologies, the resurgence of religious influences, and the growth of woke culture, the field continues to grapple with a diverse array of pressing challenges.
In this volume, our collection of chapters offers a vibrant reflection of gender studies' nuance and complexity. Contributors tackle topics such as the intersectionality of gender and ethnicity in North-East India, gender dynamics in digital spheres, transgender experiences in the workplace, and the effects of technology and education on women's empowerment. Through this anthology, we seek to ignite critical dialogue and enhance our understanding of the multifaceted nature of gender in today's world.
