"The Cougar" is a book set predominantly in the American frontier--popularly known as the Wild West. The exciting novel chronicles the adventures of Machaiah, a young warrior from Coorg (Kodagu).

The story begins in Coorg, a remote area nestled in the rugged Western Ghats or Sahyadri Mountains of India, before a tragic event changes everything for Machaiah and his family. Machaiah is tasked with a mission of great importance by the elders of his tightly knit clan. His duty takes him all the way to the American West--an area of great natural beauty and wide-open spaces.

During this assignment, the young warrior is compelled to negotiate the harsh, and often lawless, conditions prevalent during those turbulent times. He is frequently challenged by gunslingers, knife-wielding killers and large, ferocious fighting men.

Despite attempting to maintain a low profile, the young warrior’s exciting adventures and superb fighting skills earn him a fearsome reputation along the frontier. Fortunately, in addition to his many violent encounters, he also makes lasting friendships with many fine individuals--including independent, strong-willed, beautiful women.
