Description

Have you ever felt the weight of family expectations? The silent gaps between generations, filled with love, misunderstanding, and a desperate desire to be seen?

I’m thrilled to give you an early glimpse into my heart—a story a few decades in the making. Within the walls of one family home, three (actually four) generations of women navigate the complex tapestry of love, legacy, and the quiet conflicts that shape us.

This is the story of a family learning to speak each other's languages. It’s about the friction between tradition and change, between a desire for control and a need for freedom, and between the noise of the world and the quiet voice within. Their journey to find consensus is a powerful reminder that understanding often begins with acceptance.

This is more than a story; it’s a reflection of the complex, beautiful, and often messy tapestry of our own families. Take a look and decide it its a mirror, your neighbor's window, or just something you may have seen randomly.

About the Author

Umme Aiman Diwanji confesses to be a storyteller at heart, just about always. Being mostly engrossed in writing for corporate e-learning for nearly two decades, she finally got the opportunity to write a short book when life slowed down a bit. She finally got to writing the kind of content she always wanted to write—fiction that explores emotion, human complexity, and the unpredictable ways our lives unfold. This novella marks her entry into the universe of myriad storytellers, where imagination takes the lead and creativity finds its truest voice.
Through it all, she has held on to one belief: stories are the most powerful way to connect people. With this debut novella, she hopes readers will discover a narrative that resonates—one that lingers beyond the final page.
