Shades of Bangalore is a nostalgic tale showcasing the different shades of the city. Be it the karaga that has a history of more than 300 years, the ancient temples and their festivities, the buzzing traditional markets and professions thriving in the city, the numerous weekly santhes/fairs that do not bother about the noise, traffic, rather thrives on it; the history that fights to survive in the city with its ruins, monuments and graves, the philanthropists with their charities and deeds that make the city what it is today; all these tales are summed up in this book ‘ Shades of Bangalore’.

This book is an ode to the city’s different colours.

Perhaps most Indian cities would have a similar journey as the city of Bengaluru. But 25 years ago Bengaluru welcomed me with open arms and this book is dedication to this welcoming spirit of the city that still survives.
