In time, all things turn to dust. Part of being an artist is wanting to leave something behind that will last longer than us - some words that may inspire others, some giant monument that shows we were here. Emotions are integral to poetry, which we strive to show, not tell. Though the feelings quickly turn to dust, by writing them down we can remember and learn and inspire others through our vivid experiences.
