About the Author

Vinodini Parimi is an Indian author and storyteller who loves crafting intriguing stories filled with unexpected twists and turns—stories that keep readers curious till the very end. Whether it’s suspense, mystery, or a touch of dark irony, her writing often explores the fine line between what we see and what truly is.

She’s also passionate about writing self-help and reflective pieces, especially for young adults. Her solo debut, Before You’re Not Little Anymore (2019), began as heartfelt letters to her teenage son—eventually turning into a thoughtful guide for navigating the messy, beautiful journey of growing up.

Outside the world of words, Vinodini finds joy and comfort in the company of animals. A certified animal communicator, she spends her free time trying to decode what goes on in their gentle minds—often finding surprising sparks of inspiration for her stories from them.

Vinodini’s short fiction and contemporary stories have been featured in anthologies such as Luscious Aspirations (Blank Space) and Beyond Eternity (A Little Chorus of Love) in 2015. Her travel writing and personal essays appeared in Musafir, a travel-inspired coffee table book published by Nirvana Foundation, Mumbai, in 2018. Whether she’s writing fiction or non-fiction, Vinodini is always in search of stories that stir the soul, make you think, and leave you a little changed by the last line.

If you enjoyed reading Nothing Is As It Seems, she would love to hear your thoughts! Leaving a review on Amazon and Goodreads not only helps other mystery, thriller, and short fiction lovers discover the book but also motivates her to create more twist-filled, page-turning stories. With many more suspenseful, thought-provoking tales in the pipeline, she continues to explore the art of storytelling and is working on publishing a full-length fiction novel in the near future.
