About the Author

Wade Motawi is a veteran product design and development professional. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Wade has written and published multiple books on shoemaking, which sell in more than 40 countries and three languages.

After getting his degree from the University of Michigan in Industrial Design, Wade began his career designing golf bags. Since then, Wade has gained extensive experience designing and developing soft goods and hard goods for action sports including, wakeboarding, snowboarding, hydrofoiling, and kiteboarding.

Wade has worked as a Shoe Designer, Developer, Product Line Manager, Development Group Manager, Advanced Projects Group Manager, and Sourcing Manager. He has years of experience working on sports shoes for running, skating, biking, hunting, hiking, and snowboarding.

Wade has lived in Asia and travels extensively throughout China, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. He makes his home in Southern California with his wife and two teenage sons. His books on shoemaking are enjoyed by students, professors, design professionals, and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
