Early Islamic history is filled with amazing stories of the courage, piety and endurance of people, who stood by Prophet ﷺ against all odds. People who faced severe persecution, sacrificed immensely, showed grit and patience during calamity. These companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) were different kind of people, with different ethnicity, different backgrounds, both men and women, some rich and some poor, some gentle by nature and some firm, some pragmatic and some emotional, but one quality which made all of them righteous was their devotion to Allah SWT and his Prophet ﷺ. The challenge while writing this book was picking only a handful of stories from a huge number of inspirational life stories. While growing up, I knew only a few names and stories of early muslims and I wish I knew more. The wisdom and learnings behind these stories are life changing, and every Muslim youth should know about them. May Allah guide us and inspire us to follow their examples.
