Freedom of Expression: Through the Lens of Indian Literature follows the long tradition of Indian literature that regarded questioning not as a crime, but as the beginning of knowledge; dialogue not as a sign of weakness, but as a civilizational virtue; and dissent not as mere noise, but as a moral responsibility.
From the Vedas and the Upanishads to the Bhagavad Gita, the Bhakti tradition, and modern Indian literature, this journey does not claim to arrive at any final conclusion. Instead, it invites the reader to walk alongside the great voices of Indian literature, to think for oneself, to question for oneself, and to discover one’s own answers.
This book is not a manifesto for any ideology. It is, rather, a humble attempt to read, understand, and engage in a dialogue with the rich and enduring tradition of Indian literature.
