Description

Some questions cannot be avoided forever.
Not the comfortable ones — how do I cope, how do I improve, how do I endure. But the one underneath all of those, the one that surfaces when nothing else is working:
Why stay alive?
This book does not flinch from that question. It does not rush to answer it. Instead, it does something rarer: it investigates honestly — examining everything human beings reach for when life implodes. Pleasure. Achievement. Relationships. Identity. Control. Escape. Meaning. Clinical stabilisation. Ancient wisdom. The defiance of remaining.
Each is examined seriously. Each is found, at the point of maximum pressure, insufficient.
And then something else is found.
Written by a man carrying the question himself — not from the other side of it, but from inside it — this is an investigation conducted without a predetermined destination, across philosophy, psychology, history, and a life that has tested every anchor described in these pages.
The finding is not what you might expect. It is more honest than that.

For anyone who has felt the weight of the question — and for anyone who loves someone who has.

About the Author

Aham Igbokwe operates at the intersection of technology, leadership, and faith—bringing decades of experience as a cybersecurity consultant alongside his calling as a bi-vocational pastor.
In his professional capacity, he has worked for Fortune 20 companies consulting on enterprise security architecture and technology transformations across critical industry sectors. He holds an MBA, an MA in Theology & Leadership from the University of Roehampton, London and certifications including CISSP, CISM, CISA, and CAISS (Certified AI Security Specialist).
He’s also a commissioned Justice of the Peace for England & Wales. His dual vocation—advising organisations on enterprise cybersecurity while shepherding souls toward spiritual security—shapes his distinctive perspective on human limitations, organisational failure, and the search for meaning. He has observed from both marketplaces and pulpits that intelligence doesn't prevent suffering, that power corrupts well-intentioned leaders, and that achievements rarely deliver lasting satisfaction.
His authored works include Madness Is Not Stupidity, Common Sense for Uncommon Times, and In Remission. His writings bridge ancient wisdom and contemporary research, addressing perennial human questions with clarity and conviction.
British-born of Igbo extraction, Aham lives in Berkshire, United Kingdom.
