Description

Accreditation is often reduced to paperwork — a checklist to be completed and filed away. This book argues otherwise. Drawing on years spent inside the NBA accreditation process, it reframes compliance as a mindset — one that turns regulatory requirement into institutional belief. Practical, reflective, and grounded in real institutional experience, it is a helping hand for every educator and administrator working to move their institution from compliance to excellence.

About the Authors

Ms. Ananya DasGupta is an Associate in Library and Academic Compliance at Praxis Business School, with nearly 18 years of experience in academic libraries and higher education quality assurance. As an active member of the institution's NBA accreditation and compliance team, she has contributed extensively to academic compliance, regulatory documentation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Her experience has reinforced the belief that accreditation is far more than a compliance exercise; it is a strategic framework for strengthening academic processes, fostering a culture of quality, and driving institutional excellence. This conviction inspired her to co-author From Compliance to Excellence: The Practical Guide to NBA Accreditation, with the objective of helping institutions views accreditation as a catalyst for sustainable quality enhancement rather than merely a regulatory requirement.

She holds both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Library and Information Science. Her professional interests include academic libraries, knowledge management, open-source library systems, and quality assurance in higher education. She has presented papers at national conferences and published articles and book chapters in these areas.

Ms. Amrita Ghosh is an academic administrator and HR professional at Praxis Business School with over a decade of experience in higher education. She has played an active role in academic administration, NBA accreditation, AICTE compliance, curriculum documentation, and institutional quality assurance.

Drawing on her practical experience, this book reflects her commitment to helping institutions navigate accreditation with clarity and purpose.

Driven by the belief that accreditation should inspire institutional transformation rather than merely satisfy regulatory requirements, she co-authored From Compliance to Excellence: The Practical Guide to NBA Accreditation. Through this book, she aims to help institutions embrace NBA accreditation as a strategic framework for continuous quality improvement, academic excellence, and sustainable institutional growth.

Amrita holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Honours) in English. A firm believer in lifelong learning, she is deeply committed to enhancing academic processes and institutional quality. She has presented research papers at several national and international conferences, reflecting her active engagement with contemporary developments in higher education and management.

Dr. Kankana Mukhopadhyay is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM) at Praxis Business School, Kolkata, with over two decades of experience in management education, research, and academic leadership. She currently serves as the Chairperson – PGP & Compliance, where she plays a pivotal role in academic governance, regulatory compliance, curriculum design, quality assurance, and the successful implementation of NBA accreditation and AICTE requirements.

Dr. Kankana Mukhopadhyay holds a Ph.D. in Management Sciences and an MBA (HR) from IIEST Shibpur, along with a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from IGNOU and B.Sc. (Physics Honours) from University of Calcutta. Her multidisciplinary academic background equips her with a unique blend of analytical, technological, and management expertise, which she brings to the fields of higher education and institutional quality.

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Mukhopadhyay combines academic rigor with extensive institutional expertise in Outcome-Based Education (OBE), assessment and evaluation systems, curriculum design, faculty development, and continuous quality improvement. She has authored several books, published extensively in national and international journals, and conducted numerous faculty development programmes (FDPs), management development programmes (MDPs), and executive training programmes in the areas of leadership, motivation, organizational behaviour, storytelling in management, HR Analytics, Artificial Intelligence in HR, and institutional excellence.

As a co-author of From Compliance to Excellence: The Practical Guide to NBA Accreditation, Dr. Mukhopadhyay brings a unique perspective that bridges accreditation philosophy with practical implementation. Her experience in leading accreditation initiatives and building sustainable quality systems enables institutions to move beyond regulatory compliance and embrace a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
