Description
This work is a satirical fiction novel that explores themes of politics, power, human responsibility, and the complexity of the modern world. The narrative follows an ordinary individual temporarily placed in a position of divine authority, observing and engaging with global events, societal systems, and human behavior. The work combines humor, philosophical reflection, and social commentary to present a critical and introspective view of contemporary issues.
Anirban Deb is a keen observer of the world as it is — and as it often pretends to be. With a background in business and a mind shaped by real-world systems, conversations, and contradictions, he brings a rare mix of practicality and reflection to his writing. His work sits at the intersection of satire, philosophy, and everyday reality, questioning the structures we accept and the roles we quietly play within them.
God Is On Holiday Today is his attempt to explore a simple but uncomfortable idea: what happens when responsibility can no longer be outsourced. When not writing, Anirban continues to engage with people, ideas, and journeys that challenge how we see the world—and our place in it.
He lives in Bangalore with his wife Jayasmita and their two sons, Adhiraaj and Abhiroop. Currently he is writing Himalaya Kheechta Hain which is his first full-length Non-fiction book.
