Description

ANGST OF BELONGING AND NOT BELONGING is an international anthology of poetry, edited by Roopali Sircar Gaur and Anita Joseph. Foreword by Prof Dr. Swati Pal, Delhi University. 73 poets from around the world contributed to this anthology. In today’s world marked by shifting digital priorities and evolving notions of identity, the subject of ANGST has taken on heightened relevance. We often find ourselves navigating an increasingly interconnected yet fragmented world where borders are both physical and emotional, grappling with questions of identity and a deep-rooted desire to belong somewhere. This anthology explores the emotional dimension of belonging, where individuals wrestle with feelings of alienation, disconnection and a lack of purpose. Wonderfully articulate, our poets steadily unravel the tangled web of rootlessness, exposing its impact on personal identity and illuminating the existential questions it raises. From the piercing ache of longing for a place to call home to the existential dread that arises from a lack of rootedness, they traverse the landscapes of uncertainty, vulnerability and the quest for meaning. They navigate the delicate balance between holding onto the known while embracing the possibilities that arise from the unknown.
