Description

Every Great Discovery Begins with a Question
"Dadu..."
You must have observed when hanging out with a curious young child, one word can turn an average day into an fantastic journey.
Every question leads to another.
Why?
How?
Where?
Can it?
Sometimes the questions are simple.
Sometimes they leave even adults scratching their heads.
This book took shape from the many hundreds of these and similar conversations my grandson Ishu and I have had over the years. Whether it was walking with Ishu to his school or flying high over the ocean, or while playing a game of chess or just watching the rain stream down the windows or drinking tea together, Ishu continued to astound me with his questions, converting the simple and mundane into rich learning experiences in science and technology and the universe at large.
By profession - software engineering - practice - teaching and a lifetime learner, most of my waking hours are spent explaining things to others, and among many other ways to educate myself along with fellow human beings I came to realized that the highest of the educational explanations never start with “big fancy words” and massive “reference books, thick with text; on the contrary, they most generally starts with some objects you are used to dealing with: a glass of water for instance; a Chess match; a book at your disposal in a library ; a Styrofoam Cup and the “wide open sky “at the ceiling of your mind
That is exactly how this book is written.
Here you will get to listen to engaging dialogues between an inquisitive grandson and his Dadu, rather than long scientific sessions with complex formulas. Along with simple to perform experiments and mundane, realistic illustrations to simplify complex concepts, you’ll also find amazing trivia about science hidden in plain sight.
Together, we will explore two amazing worlds.
The first is Exploring the Digital World —computers, Google, the Internet, and artificial intelligence. While these and many other technologies are incorporated into our lives and work every day, seldom do we stop to consider: How did that even work?
The second is Exploring Our Amazing World —the blue sky, rain, clouds, airplanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, and many other mysteries that surround us every day.
You don't need to be a scientist to enjoy this journey.
All you need is curiosity.
Anyway whether or not you're a child who's reading this in their very own hands, a mom, or father sharing with their son or daughter, or even grandparent in the know that is reading the stories to a grandchild, i want to wish that this book gives them courage and desire to seek answers to many inquiries.
Because every answer opens the door to another mystery.
And sometimes, the best part isn't finding the answer...
...it's discovering the joy of asking the question.
So come along.
Ishu already has the first one waiting.
"Dadu...?"
And another adventure begins.
