About the Author

B K Singh is a retired Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Head of Forest Force, Karnataka State, India. He is a Karnataka cadre, 1976 batch officer of the Indian Forest Service. He is a freelance writer in the Deccan Herald, Bangalore, Karnataka and consultant to multiple wildlife organizations of India. He is a visiting faculty for Range Forest Officer trainees in Karnataka Forest Academy Gungargatti Dharwad, Karntaka State. He teaches forest survey and forest economics.
