Ever since humans appeared on earth, they have been intrigued and awe inspired by the natural phenomena that they see around them. Phenomena such as the daily rising and setting of the sun; the moon and the stars; periodic waxing and waning of the moon; periodic changes in seasons; birth, growth, decay and death of all living beings and plants and trees awe inspire them. They are also inquisitive to know if this universe is finite or infinite or just very big. Moreover is this universe ever- lasting or just long lived? How it originated and who created it? Humans have natural urge to ask such questions and search for their answers.

About the Author

Prof. Chander Mohan was born in 1939 in Jehlum city of Punjab province of British India. He obtained his B.A.(Hons), and M.A. degrees from Panjab University Chandigarh, and Ph.D. degree from Roorkee Unviersity (now IIT Roorkee). He served on the faculty of Mathematics of Roorkee University in various capacities from 1964 to 2000, and retired as its Head of Department. During this period he also visited some foreign countries including a visit to U.K. in 1973 under British Council Exchange of Younger Scientists Program. From 2000 to 2004, he was associated with private institutions of higher learning in Nioda and Greater Nioda in senior teaching and administrative positions. From 2004 to 2018 he served as Prof. in Computer Science, in Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research, Ambala. Presently he is associated with this institute as Prof. Emrtius.
