About the Author
Dr Chandra Shekhar Balachandran is a geographer with over 35 years of teaching experience from school to university levels, in India and the USA. Since 2000, he has been based in India. Through The Institute of Geographical Studies (http://www.tigs.in/), he has been working to popularize geography among school children in India through a variety of activities such as workshops, newspaper columns, etc. He teaches geography using a non-formal approach on- and off-line. He tells his students that he "eats, breathes, drinks, ... lives geography!"
