Human resource development is the key factor for improving quality of special education.Only by empowering professionals, the quality of children with special needs will improve. The seminar “Mental Retardation-Empowering professionals of better service” is a humble attempt of Nirmala Sadan Training College for special Education to improve the quality of children with intellectual disability.The Topics for the seminar were specially selected and they covered the areas – current practices, curriculum adaptation, psychological and behavioural problems and their management and research in special education.This volume contains the theme papers and selected delegate papers presented during the seminar.
