Posts held in Government of India: Head of the Project Appraisal Division of the Planning Commission; Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Department of Programme Implementation; Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. Retired as Member, Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property on December 31, 2002.

First book (as co-author): Bhartiya Samvidhan. During 1980s and 1990s, published several articles on economic and administrative issues in leading national newspapers. During the same. published several stories in English and Hindi in leading newspapers and magazines. Presently publishing articles and stories, mainly on own website.
