Description

Let’s journey to 12250 BCE to discover:

A city of gold
Where dwelt abundant peace and contentment in houses studded with gems. An empire so vast that the equator bisected it.
A war that almost wiped out not one but two races
Ancient dynasty that spiralled into a dark abyss of self-destruction; plagued with ego, anger and pride. A leader who was an esteemed scholar and fearless warrior but failed to conquer his inner demons.
A sagacious Queen
Tales of her beauty and wisdom spread through the world. A virtuous wife who stood by her husband, when even his kin seemed to desert him. A mother who could only spectate helplessly; the downfall of her kingdom and the blood of her slain sons.
She was the Queen of Sinhala- present day Sri Lanka.

This is the story of Mandodari, the forgotten wife of Ravan.

About the Author

Anita is an allied health professional with a doctorate in Psycho-Oncology. A dedicated traveller and an avid reader, her favourite books include works of Munshi Premchand, Rabindranath Tagore, Sumati Kshetramade, Shivaji Sawant, Chitra Bannerjee-Devkaruni, Jane Austen, Eric Segal, Jeffery Archer, and as a kid Enid Blyton.
Having a passion for history, which is only accentuated by her travels, Anita writes historical fiction based on legends of exemplary women. She hopes that these stories, overlooked in scriptures, would inspire women in current times to stand tall and believe in themselves.
Anita's kids describe her as someone who is full of life, an old soul with young mentality, and a friend. She currently lives in Australia and is still practicing in her field while writing in her spare time.
Anita would love to hear from her readers and welcomes all feedback. She quotes the words of Malcom X "If you have no critics, you will have no success."
