I have always believed that the most beautiful moments are often the quietest ones... a lamp being lit at dusk, the whistle of a distant steam train, rain resting on a rose, or the first light dissolving the fog over the Thames. These are the moments I wanted to preserve.

My love affair with the Victorian era began years ago and has only deepened with time. Through its literature, architecture, paintings, and unforgettable stories, I discovered a world that feels both distant and strangely familiar. This collection is my attempt to wander those cobbled streets once more—not as a historian, but as a dreamer.

Each of the fifty-one haiku in this book is paired with an original illustration, inviting you to pause for a moment and simply observe. There is no grand narrative to follow, no mystery to solve, only fleeting glimpses of a bygone age captured in seventeen syllables.
