Indian economy is an emerging economy in the world. Agriculture,
industries, import -export, service sector etc. are the important
component of the Indian economy. The contribution of
agriculture in the Indian economy is very important. In India, it is
estimated that 63 percent of the population is directly or indirectly
dependent on agricultural activities. Small and medium enterprises
in India are also dependent on agriculture. Agriculture is the major
employment generating sector in India followed by the Small and
Medium Enterprises group in India which generates employment.

In India even today. The unorganized sectors are found in every
place in India. Unorganized workers include agricultural laborers,
industrial laborers, service sector laborers, and others. Unorganized
workers are mostly found in the construction industry followed
by the agriculture sector with the highest number of workers.
The unorganized sector gives employment to a large and
considerable part of workforce both in rural and urban area. The
unorganised sectors are also called as informational sectors. It includes
activities carried out by small and family enterprises, part or
wholly with family labour. Growth of the informal sector and of the
informal workers is due to a number of reasons including structural
adjustment, privatization, liberalization and globalization, and the
growth of the new knowledge economy.
